Dale Shepherd
They don’t come much bigger than Dale ‘Bert’ Shepherd when it comes to big money finalists.

Dale has been on the top of the match circuit for a very long time and is one of the most respected and deadly anglers out there.

He’s been in every big money final there is, and proves his class year in and year out as he continues to qualify for the finals, rarely missing a year, which is a massive achievement in itself.

Started fishing at the age of 5 with a 5ft rod for trout on rivers, from there I’ve been Lucky enough to rub shoulders with some awesome river anglers but the one that taught me more than anyone has got to my grandad…ironically the day he got taken into hospital before he past away, was the same day that I won my first senior match on the river ure…since then I’ve won every match on the ripon calender numerous times and the ure at ripon is what I would class as my own venue, but I’ve also won the swale championships, individually and team event, as well as other river swale matches…I’ve won and been in the top ten of the ripon 3 day festival on the ure since it started, I hold the record for the river tyne with 103lb of dace from the cables peg aswell as winning various club and opens on still waters. I also like to hunt for specimen perch and chub through the winter of which I’ve had 5 chub to 7lb plus now…so I would defo class myself as a bit of an all rounder but my heart is on the rivers….also qualified for the Northern river masters twice…as well as numerous other matches.

My personal biggest achievement, other than 103lb on Tyne would be fishing the calder 2 years ago…

I try not to be a big head but a lot would disagree but helping other anglers catch more is a big part of what I do
